- As a number of you reported, a service interruption impaired sending and receiving notifications for a couple of days. This was due to an avalanche of snowflake cookies. We've removed the free snowflake cookie and unclogged the pipeline. Timely notifications should resume shortly. Please note that there's a backlog in our queues, so you'll be getting earlier notifications first. For more details, check out this post at
lj_maintenance. - In anticipation of the new year, we've embarked on a self-improvement kick to boost our backend (pun semi-intended). This will allow us to offer you a holiday promotion in the next few weeks (yes, we're listening and working very hard to make it happen). We sincerely appreciate your continued patience and support.
Holiday vgifts are here!
We've added some fantastic new vgifts to help you spread holiday cheer. We also hope you'll honor AIDS Awareness Month by purchasing virtual red ribbons. Priced at $2.99, we'll donate 100 percent of gross proceeds to IAVI.org (the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative) to support the development and global distribution of an affordable HIV vaccine.

Winner posted on news to delight you!
In honor of all the brilliant writers on LiveJournal, we've created a brand new community:
ljlimericks! Each week, we'll enter a handful of limericks into a poll (which we'll tuck snugly under an LJ-Cut). The winning poem will be published in the following newsletter. In addition, the author will receive a virtual blue ribbon! If you have the time, come drop us a rhyme. Please keep the "Nantucket" stuff on the downlow, since this is a youth-friendly community. Our first prompt is: Insomnia in winter.

after which, we could head back home! :):):) aaand it wasn't just any spa!
it's called Aramsa, The Garden Spa Experience (quoted from their webby, haha), owned by ex-actress Jazreel Low, whose husband is Iain's dad (talk about a small world)!

the lounge area where there are healthy sesame crisps biscuits that go superbly well with steaming hot ginger/lemongrass tea! joze and i bought 3 packets of the biscuits. lol!
i only took the After-Spa pictures, cos we were late for our session.
had to dash down for press check at the printer first.

before i changed back to my clothes, and after. :D

i'm loving that tiny cute bun on the top of my head! i hope my hair grows out faster so i can make a bigger bun. haha. the therapist was the one who tied it for me that way, while she kneaded my back.

Facials. make up. skin care. hair. and very importantly nails!

Left my place at 8+ for the private shiseido sale and the response was good. Far better than the laniege one even during off peak hours.
Many OLs must have taken half day leaves, but it's rather worth it, especially for Majorlica (3 for $15) and Shiseido products (50%) :)
Then went for a really good lunch the girls.
Got along well with Christine and Jasmine whom I met through Sarah today :)
Kudos to Sarah who passed the invites.
Will blog more about it when I get more pictures!
and I picked this up from the library today ! :)

being a fan of her book, as well as dan brown's, it didnt help that both of them came out the larger sizes instead of the regular a5s and I bought Dan B.'s and forgo buying Sophie K.'s to save $.
So I decided to reserve from NLB and after 1.5months, voila, the notice came to pick the book up!
$1.55 VS $30+ , I get to keep this for 2 weeks then return it! :)
As for Dan B.'s the lost symbol, anyone who wishes to take over this in Jan 2010 ( excellent condition, bought for $36 from borders)
can purchase from me at $20.
Just let me know! :)

grace introduced this website to me a week back.. and the Irish Beef Stew caught my eyes.
i couldnt cook it because of the big move and had to push back the day to cook it. i was really excited to cook it nonetheless.
http://crepesofwrath.net/2009/12/02/dru
finally, we found a great but slightly upscale supermarket to shop at and got the ingredients needed to create the dish.
i have never had irish stew before so i tried to follow the recipe to a T.
but strangely enough, the recipe didnt turn out quite a flavourful as i had hoped it would be.
so i decided to add my own flavours to my version.

to rid the beed of its smell, i fried it will ginger slices.
instead of Worcestershire sauce, i used soy sauce
and i added a whole bunch of herbs and spices: paprika powder, onion powder, garlic powder, lots of black pepper, cayanne pepper and chili padi.
in addition, i slow boiled the stew for much longer than the recipe directions called for.
it was much more flavourful and taste great with rice.
pretty time consuming but tasted wonderful on a cold winter night.
(:
this recipe is a keeper!

FRIDAY 1AM
Hi babes!
All my gmail accounts have exceeded their limits so will continue invoicing and verifying payments tomororrow.
Thank you for your patience and TGIF!
Anyway, met up with Val and Bea last Tues!! It's been sooooooooo long since we've seen Val as finally she's back from Melbourne! :D :D Went to KPO for some chilling session, and here are the photos! :D

Also, attended Yalin's UOL Pageant last Thursday and I'm so happy for her cos she got 3rd among all the other contestants. It's not a big win, but at least she was in the final 3! Stayed awhile at the club with the girls and went off for Bak Kut Teh at Mohd Sultan. Not very nice though. I still prefer the one at Havelock.
On Sat it was Vince's 88.3FM Campus Host Competition! He got 2nd among all the other schools and I honestly thought he was better than the girl who won. But ohwells, it's over, and it's still a win! :)
Okay, I have to go now. I haven't even done any housework today! BUT, I'm totally EGGCITED for our trip to Phuket! YAY!!! :D
PHUKET HERE WE COME!!!! :D
ever tried singing ktv in bedroom slippers and blanket?
we did it! right here at K Suites!
this machine is way cool! can even record the song that you have sung and send it to your mobile via bluetooth. :D
and if you are the type who only eats tidbits during ktv sessions, fret not! you may even surf the internet :)
our pots of tea. twinnings' chamomile tea. :D
had to take this shot as i was amused by ser's big bottle!
the chio wallpaper
the menus (food and drinks) against the grey sofa

guess what this was?
bedroom slippers!

nice knowing you, ser. looking forward to chat with you via msn. heehee.
camwhores in action! :D
it was a pleasant experience at K Suites!
next, we moved on to The Queen & Mangosteen, Vivocity.
the booze! but nope, too early for that. :D
the paintings on the wall
our starter: seafood platter
didn't quite fancy this dish, as the small crayfish didn't taste good. alright, we dread the shelling.
fishermen's pie! i <3 this dish! the mashed potato (top layer) simply melts in your mouth!
it was a good thing that we shared the dishes. hence, the bill was of a healthy amount ;)

i heart the coasters! so cute :X
first attempt to take a group shot, but the server should learn to take better pictures!
in the end, we got the customer sitting at the table beside us to take this picture for us :X
HL told me about the origin of this name. "Queen" suggests that it is British, and "Mangosteen" is the "Queen of Fruits", therefore, they are used in this context. In addition, mangosteen is an asian fruit, hence, british influence in an asian restaurant. (not sure if i got this right though)

i heart this gigantic chalkboard!

trying to look pro with my camera

and lastly, we were chilling out at this moroccan pub.

i like all the chambers in the pub!

I had great fun, ladies! hope to hang out with you all soon, when i am back!
and ser, you look great... no need to lose weight.. just be healthy and glowing!

im very stingy one, anything that goes beyond $45 for a top, unless they're brands like BEBE or I feel that I am a cash cow that day,
or it has a cut that i can't resist,
or else it's very hard to splurge!
goes uber well with jeans too! *SHRIEKS*
sales this week: bc sale and shiseido sales. really gonna kaching$_$
I didn't return the calls because I simply don't know what to say. Words are beyond me right now...and so I turn to music, my sole companion in this deafening silence.
i never really used to like porridge back in Singapore because of the weather.
but on a cold winter day, a bowl of steaming hot porridge does well as a warm-me-up, as well as a perk-me-up. (:

i used two kinds of rice. long grain Jasmine rice and Japanese peral rice to achieve a different texture.
ingredients:
bejing cabbage
chinese dried mushrooms
dried scallops
onion
rice
soy sauce
sesame oil
salt
chili padi
spring onions
fried onions
white pepper

Needless to say, I picked the pink one!

Left it for lunch. Been thinking about pairing it with Coffee Bean's Caesar Salad the whole morning!
So I went down to Starbucks and was disappointed that they don't have it.
The point it, what was I doing at Starbucks when I'm supposed to get the salad from Coffee Bean!!! Stupid me!!!
First time trying their potato salad. I like it!
With the cupcake and a hot cup of tea, I enjoyed my lunch very much! Great break away from all the usual food!
